The hike is very scenic and offers great opportunities for photography, on a clear day some of the highest and most beautiful mountain ranges can be seen, the bird’s eye view of the lake is also a wonderful sight.
This Lake was formed many thousands of years ago in an old volcanic crater and is located at an elevation of approximately 2500 feet above sea level.
Next drive into the village of Laudat and walk for 15 minutes to the Ti Tou Gorge one of the most unique and fascinating places on the island if not the Caribbean.
The Ti Tou Gorge is like a crevice in a mountain with a waterfall inside.
The name Ti Tou Gorge is Creole and means 'Little Throat Hole', literally we will swim up the 'throat' of a mountain to a waterfall located inside the gorge.
This gorge was formed many thousands of years ago from volcanic eruptions and is fed by water from the Freshwater Lake.
The formation of the rock walls on either side, through which we swim are intricate and breathtaking, this place is truly one of the wonders of Dominica.
